Amethyst Healthcare has extensive experience of establishing mutually beneficial, long term partnerships with public, private or not-for-profit medical institutions to offer cancer patients state-of-the-art radiotherapy treatments.
Here are just a few examples of Amethyst’s collaborative approach.
Outsource existing radiotherapy operations
in need of new equipment
Complement their offer
with radiotherapy treatments on premise
Propose medical consultations
with radiotherapy physicians
Opening a new department within a hospital with chemotherapy and onco surgery
In Vienna, Austria, Amethyst has built the first private radiotherapy centre in the country, within the premises of the largest private hospital, established in 1882, Wiener PrivatKlinik (WPK).
WPK was already offering a comprehensive range of oncology services, including diagnostic, medical oncology and surgery, but had no radiotherapy on premise.
Thanks to this symbiotic cooperation, WPK is now able to offer a comprehensive cancer care to international as well as Austrian patients, benefiting from Amethyst expertise and high-tech equipment.
Outsourcing of radiotherapy department
In Italy, Amethyst signed a unique partnership with the Hospitaler Order St. John of God – (Fatebenefratelli, FBF). Amethyst engaged in a major renovation programme of the Isola Tiberina hospital, in order to both:
- Improve the comfort of patients through redesigned workflows and renovated premises
- Bring the latest radiotherapy techniques, by upgrading the equipment and software and transferring Amethyst group medical & physics guidelines.
As a result, more than 70% of patients are treated with the most advanced radiotherapy techniques today, including VMAT and stereotactic treatments. Shortened treatment times, combined with longer opening hours of the Amethyst centre, enable to start treatments without delay, hence optimising the outcome for the patient.
Acquiring and modernising a radiotherapy centre located within a large public hospital
In Creil, France, Amethyst group acquired in 2014 a radiotherapy clinic located within the campus of public hospital Groupe Hospitalier Public Du Sud De L’Oise Creil (GHPSO). The centre benefited from major investments made after the acquisition – both in terms of equipment and software – enabling it to deliver latest radiotherapy treatments such as IMRT and VMAT.
Since early 2020, it is also offering stereotactic radiotherapy. Thanks to an extensive partnership with the hospital, patients can access a comprehensive cancer care, combining radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery, as well as support therapies.
Acquiring and modernising a radiotherapy centre located within a large private hospital chain
In France, Amethyst Charlebourg radiotherapy centre is located in the premises of Clinique Lambert, part of Ramsay group.
This enables a close collaboration centred around patient needs; patients can benefit from a comprehensive cancer care, including surgical oncology, chemotherapy and brachytherapy, as well as support therapies.
Hosting tumour boards
In Maubeuge, France, our Amethyst centre is host of the regional Cancer Coordination Centre, organising weekly tumour boards covering the main cancer conditions, and coordinating therapies with five participating hospitals and clinics in the region.
